Juvenile Defensive Tactics
We see a growing need to protect our children (of all ages) in this society. They are the future. Due to the differing developmental stages that our children pass through on the journey to becoming an adult we see the necessity for a variety of programs to deal with these different developmental stages.
- Protective Behaviour Program Under 8
- Protective Behaviour Program 8 to 11
- Protective Behaviour Program Over 12
- Schoolies Self Defence Course
If you have completed one of the Protective Behaviour Programs, the skills taught in the Program are perishable skills and need to be maintained so we strongly recommend some ongoing Self Defence training. For Primary School age children we suggest learning some Ju Jitsu at the Brisbane Martial Arts Academy (visit www.bmaa.biz or email info@bmaa.biz). Ju Jitsu builds confidence, self- esteem and discipline and is taught in group classes or private lessons. The Brisbane Martial Arts Academy encourages parents to observe all classes so they can reinforce the concepts outside class times. For Secondary School age children we suggest learning either Ju Jitsu or Kung Fu (Wing Chun Do) from the Brisbane Martial Arts Academy. The Kung Fu is more suitable for older Secondary School students, as the concepts are more suited to adults rather than young children. These concepts build confidence, self-esteem and self-discipline and are empowering teens and young adults with the strength to be able to avoid negative peer group pressure. Once again parents are invited to observe all classes so they can reinforce the concepts outside class times.
